Extended School Days
Below are the times and dates of the extended school days we will operate during October and November. Fridays will not be an extended school day.

PreK
Monday 26th October to Monday 2nd November (Friday not included)
The children will return to school after lunch for an additional 45 minutes. Their afternoon session will be from 12:45 to 1.30pm

Kg
Monday 26th October to Monday 12th November (Fridays not included)
The children will finish school at 2:45pm

Grades 1-8
Monday 26th October to Tuesday 17th November (Fridays not included)
The children will finish school at 4:15pm

Saturday School Sessions
The Saturday School sessions for all students on 7th and 21st November will start at 8:45am and end at 12:00pm.

Halloween/Fall Festival Reminder
This Saturday evening is the Halloween Party to be held in The Clubhouse 6:00-7:00pm.  
All families are asked to bring a SMALL amount, of either cup cakes, cookies, fruit, snacks, juice or water to share for the party.
Trick-or-Treating will follow 7:00-9:00pm.  
Look out for the pumpkin sign in the garage window, and a porch light that is on!
Please remind the children not to call after 9:00pm, and also to respect those houses not wishing to take part.  
This event is open to all DAIS students, and children living in Dostyk Village
Have fun and be safe!

A sign-up sheet is posted in the school lobby on the Halloween board if you wish to help at any of the activity stations.

QSI-DAIS Middle School Dance
The Middle School dance to be held here at DAIS has been rescheduled to take place on Friday 13th November. More details to follow once the DAIS & QSI student committees have met.

Dombra Class: Changes for November
Due to the increased demand for dombra lessons this year we will change, on a monthly basis, when some of the children have their morning classes.

During November the advanced dombra group (Rebecca Godard, Rachel Person and Ryan Person) will have lessons on Tuesday & Thursday morning. The experienced dombra group (Caleb Godard, Chase Deitner, Daniela Foltz, William Luke and Callum Mackinnon) will have a lesson each Friday. The beginner group will not change days.

Scouting: Message from Katie Cox and Judson Offner
Katie Cox will be holding an informational meeting about Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts in the cafeteria room at the Dostyk Clubhouse on Tuesday, November 3rd from 10:00- 11:00 AM. Katie will have books and information as well as registration forms available.

We do have some volunteer leaders already but need more help to carry out a successful program.
Our groups are affiliated with organizations in the USA (Girl Scouts of the USA and Boy Scouts of America). Girl Scouting is for girls aged 5 and older and in Kindergarten and up. Boy Scouting is for boys aged 6 and older and in 1st grade and up.

Helping each other keep the children healthy in school
The school will continue to try and make sure the children are aware of appropriate behaviors when they cough or sneeze and the importance of washing their hands. TCO has confirmed that as per school policy if a child develops a fever they should remain out of school for 24 hours after their fever has ended.
