Goodbye to the Saits and Barretts
This week we sadly said goodbye to the Sait and Barrett families. Esa and Hamza are heading to Norway while Ameeka is going to live in California. I’d like to thank their parents for all the support they have given to the school. Naila came to school several times as a guest speaker, Noor allowed us to visit the Schlumberger offices and Mark gave his musical support in various school performances.

Triathlon Saturday May 22nd
Congratulations to all the children who took part in the Triathlon and PreK-Kg “Biathlon” on Saturday. We would like to thank parents and also members of the wider Dostyk - TCO community for providing essential supervisory support. The staff from the ISOS clinic took care of our medical needs and we are grateful that they were with us. This support helped to keep the children safe and also meant they were being encouraged no matter where they were on the course. Thanks also to Mr. Levy for giving out the well deserved certificates and medals.

End of Year Celebration: Saturday May 29th at 10:00am
Please join all the children in the school lobby for our end of year celebration. We will
recognise the children and teachers who are leaving this year and our lone 8th grader, Matt Tankersley, will present his final speech in school. A number of awards will be presented to children throughout the school. The children will sit with their classmates in the seats that have been reserved for them. At the end of the ceremony refreshments will be available in the lobby and the balloon decoration on the stage will provide you with a “photo opportunity”.

Memory Book: “Adventures”
Next week our Memory Book will be given out to the children and our theme this year is “Adventures”.  Mr. Person is responsible for coordinating the children who work to assemble the Memory Book and he spends many hours after school and at weekends bringing it all together. We hope you enjoy reading the book with your children and reflecting on the school events that took place this year.

Summer Reading & Fitness Program
In the next few days we will be sending home the summer reading and fitness logs. We hope the children will have time to read or be read to on a regular basis throughout the summer. We know this is such a vital skill to develop and can bring a great deal of enjoyment. Exercising in lots of different ways will also be a good target for the children and we hope they will take pride in completing both their reading and fitness logs in a way that is appropriate for the age and developmental stage.

Summer Holiday Library openings
During the summer holiday the school library will be open for families with children attending the school. Opening hours are Monday and Friday each week from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Last Day of School Thursday June 3rd
The last day of school ends at 12:00pm.

Thank you
All the staff at the school would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy summer break. Thank you so much for all you do to support the school.
