Open House
Thank you to everyone who attended the Open House last Saturday. The teachers enjoyed meeting parents and sharing an outline of their program.
Parent – Teacher Meetings September 6th to 10th
Parent-Teacher meetings have been taking place this week. This first meeting is to help teachers learn about your child from you and is not the usual parent-teacher conference when the teacher gives a report on the progress your child has been making.
Dombra Lessons
Children in Grades 3-8 who wish to learn dombra this year will today receive confirmation of the days their lessons will take place. Dombra lessons with Ms. Nurgul begin next week. All lessons start at 7:30am in the music room.
Dance Classes
Ms. Zhanna will begin her dance classes in the dance/exercise room on Thursday 16th September with children from Kindergarten to Grade 8. The younger children will start their class at 3:30pm and the older children will begin their class at 4:15pm. All the children will receive a note stating the time of their class.
Peace Day
We are planning an assembly on Tuesday 21st September at 11:20am in the school lobby. The theme for our assembly will be “Peace”. Please join us if you can.
Saturday Sports: A Note from Mr. Laverack
Saturday Sports start this Saturday 11th September. Please encourage your kids to attend!

1.30-2.30 4th grade through 8th
Parents Away from Home
If your child is staying with friends while you are away from home please let teachers know. Please send all contact details so we can then ensure that messages are sent to the appropriate place. Younger children particularly can be very upset when parents are away and this helps teachers understand what is happening.
Parent Support Group (PSG): September 14th
The PSG plays a very active role in helping support teachers with their school activities. Parents also develop activities for the children that usually take place after normal school hours. The meeting will take place in the Social Club at 8:15am

Circus Transport: Sunday 12th September
If you require transport from school to the circus on Sunday morning please let Charles know how many in your group no later than 9:00am on Friday so transport can be booked. Transport will depart school on Sunday at 9:30am. We believe the circus performance will last between 60-90 minutes.
By calling the number on the letter sent home a few days ago please check if you can collect your tickets at the theater door or if you have to collect them a day or so before the performance.
Brown Bag Lunch
Tomorrow Mrs. Flodin has volunteered to supervise the children and of course any additional help is most welcome.
Updated Parent Contact Information
Please send to school any new contact details -phone numbers, e-mail addresses etc - if anything has changed since the last school year.
Sweaters
It would be a good idea if the children bring a sweater to school so that they have something to wear when they go out to recess. Sometimes, as we found out yesterday, when the wind blows it can be quite cool even at this time in the year.
