Middle School International Study Trip
The children thoroughly enjoyed their international study trip and Village Camps has sent some very complimentary e-mails about the children. The children are now busy working on their study trip presentations. The presentations, to school families and friends, will take place in school on Thursday 28th April at 6:30pm.

School Visitors
This week Rob Ambrogi the ISS Contract Executive has been in school. Raul Hinojosa and his wife Patsy have also been in school getting to know the children, teachers and meeting parents. Raul and Rob have been involved in a variety of meetings while Patsy and Raul have been given orientation visits around town by residents of Dostyk Village. Many thanks for the help showing Patsy and Raul around Atyrau. Raul and Patsy are very much looking forward to joining the school and the Dostyk community.

PSG Meeting: April 15th
The April PSG meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30am in the music room. The venue has been changed so an extract from a DVD can be shown.

Film and Media Club
Yesterday was the first after school session of “Claymation” which is a film and media club activity that is open to 3rd through 8th grade.

Media Festival: April 22nd
Please join us for a short celebration of student technology and media projects at our first ever Media Festival next Friday April 22nd at 6.30 pm in the school lobby.  The program will be a brief sampling of students' work across grade levels.

Poem in your Pocket Day
Today is “Poem in Your Pocket Day”.
April is National Poetry Month in the USA and each year the city of New York sponsors an annual Poem in Your Pocket Day. In 2009 the Academy of American Poets took the day national encouraging individuals to enjoy and share poetry with special events planned for this day.

When students (and adults) arrived at school this morning Mrs. Gregory had a basket of poems from which to pick out a paper containing a short poem. This poem was for keeping in their pocket and reading/sharing with others at convenient times during the day.

Dance Classes
After school dance classes begin again this afternoon with the same groups at the same times we had before the Spring break.

Saturday Sports: A Message from Rick Laverack
Saturday Sports resumes this Saturday 16th April!
 Hosting this month are Bryan Deitner and Walid Masri.
 
12.30-1.30 Kindergarten through 3rd grade
 
1.30-2.30 4th grade through 8th 

Hopefully the weather will behave and the kids may be able to be outside.
